Governing Body
The governing body at Ryarsh Primary School has a vital role to play in making sure that every child gets the best possible education. We achieve this by:
a. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
b. Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils; and
c. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
The full governing body meets six times every year (one meeting every-half term). In addition to this, pairs of governors (monitoring pairs) visit the school three times each year in order to monitor the school’s progress towards achieving the strategic goals, identified through the school development plan.
As a governing body, we believe in working in close partnership with the school, in order to continually improve the quality of learning opportunities for each child.
We maintain an open and friendly atmosphere at our meetings, where all ideas are welcome, and are often the subject of lively discussion.
We all have different backgrounds which enable us to bring a great variety of skills to the governing body, and this, combined with a shared commitment to the pupils and staff of the school, is one of the reasons why we are so successful.
