‘Ryarsh is an outstanding school.’ Inspectors visited the school on 25th and 26th April 2012 and rated the school “outstanding” overall and also “outstanding” in every category.

The inspection team praised the “high expectations that staff have of pupils’ achievement”, going on to say that “achievement is outstanding because of the rapid progress pupils make throughout the school” and that “skilled teaching assistants make a valuable contribution to the outstanding achievement of pupils.” They also said that “pupils’ behaviour, attitude to learning and conduct in lessons and around the school are exemplary” and that “a family atmosphere pervades the school.”

The report describes the “Outstanding leadership and management” which is “outstandingly effective in promoting pupils’ experiences and personal development through a rich curriculum” and states that “leaders’ relentless pursuit of excellence, with its goal of outstanding outcomes for pupils, is evident from all that the school undertakes.” It goes on to say that “outstanding teaching” and “precise” planning “takes learning forward relentlessly day by day.”
