Ryarsh Primary School

E-Safety

Throughout the school, we use the iLearn2 plans and resources to provide the children with an engaging and powerful computing curriculum. A key part of this curriculum is e-safety, ensuring that all pupils develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to use technology safely, responsibly and positively.

At Ryarsh, we understand that digital devices are a central part of modern life. While they offer enormous opportunities for learning, creativity and connection, they also bring potential risks. Our e-safety education equips children to navigate the online world with confidence, awareness and critical thinking.

We teach children to:

  • Recognise risks online, including inappropriate content, cyberbullying, and scams.

  • Protect personal information and understand the importance of privacy and security.

  • Communicate respectfully and responsibly in digital environments.

  • Evaluate online content critically, understanding the difference between reliable and misleading information.

Our approach combines age-appropriate lessons, discussion, practical activities, and reinforcement through school policies. Children are encouraged to ask questions, share experiences, and develop strategies for making safe choices online.

We also work closely with parents and carers, providing guidance and resources to help families support their children’s safe use of technology at home. Together, we aim to foster digital resilience, helping pupils enjoy the benefits of technology while staying safe and responsible.
