School Uniform

Ryarsh Primary School is committed to promoting equality and value for money and to ensuring that no child is discriminated against due to their religion or belief, economic circumstances or social and cultural background. This policy contains provisions to meet these objectives and has been created with health and safety, value for money and practicality at its heart.

Additionally, it is important that our pupils feel a sense of belonging to our school. We believe that wearing a smart and practical uniform allows all children, regardless of their backgrounds, to feel equal to their peers and confident in their appearance.

We also believe it is important for children to wear clothing that is conducive to a successful learning environment, including activity-appropriate clothing, such as sports attire.

At Ryarsh, we do not have a separate uniform for summer or winter. Children are able to use any combination of the following items during any stage of the school year.

Our Uniform

Top half of body	White shirts (not polo shirts) or white open necked blouse. Bottle green v-necked pullovers (Pullovers embroidered with the Ryarsh motif are available from the school office) or Bottle green cardigans (Cardigans embroidered with the Ryarsh motif are available from the school office) Tie (as appropriate) Green and white checked dress Grey pinafore dress (including gingham playsuits)
Bottom half of body	Grey trousers or grey skirt (including skorts) Short grey trousers White or grey socks or green or grey tights Black shoes (not boots or trainers. Shoes should not come above the ankle)

PE and Sports Kit

Winter PE kit	Green sweatshirt (sweatshirts with the Ryarsh motif are available from the school office) White T shirt (t shirts with the Ryarsh motif are available from the office)
Summer PE Kit	Green or black sporting bottoms Green or black shorts
Footwear	Children need to wear trainers for PE
